The Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association has appointed 10 new members to its policy board from across defined benefit, defined contribution, local government and advisory organisations.

Five new members have started with immediate effect and a further five will join from October this year.

New members include Nest’s Philip Brown, Kent County Council’s Nick Buckland, Legal & General’s Colin Clarke, The People’s Partnership’s Tim Gosling, and Joanne Donnelly, who joins the London Pensions Fund Authority in April.

Joining from October will be The Church of England’s John Ball, USS’s Naomi Clark, Mercer’s Tess Page, the Pension Policy Institute’s Suzy Morrissey, and Barnett Waddingham’s Matt Tickle.

Zoe Alexander, director of policy and advocacy at PLSA, said: “I am excited about these new appointments, as well as the exceptionally strong field of applicants the process attracted.

“The policy board helps us develop solutions to the big policy issues of the day, and we are facing into a period in which we expect pension policy to remain a critical part of the national policy agenda.

“All the best ideas and expert understanding comes from our membership so the role played by the PLSA members on our committees is vital.”

John Chilman, who chairs the policy board, said an “experienced and diverse” board would help the association “shape the pensions and savings landscape for the benefit of both schemes and savers, as we focus on the critical issues over the coming years”.
