Chappell moves to People's Partnership as a non-executive director
Laura Chappell is to join People’s Partnership as a non-executive director.
Chappell has 30 years’ experience in asset management, and was chief executive of Brunel Pension Partnership, which she helped to set up six years ago.
She said: “I’m thrilled to be joining the board at such an exciting time for both People’s Partnership and UK pensions in general. The fact that more than six million people look to us to help them build financial foundations for life shows we have a significant role to play in improving the wealth of the nation. I’m delighted to be involved in the next step of the organisation’s remarkable journey.”
Jim Islam, chair of the People’s Partnership board, said: “Laura’s appointment is fantastic news for the millions of members of The People’s Pension due to her rich and varied experience. She shares our view that the savers’ best interests must be at the heart of every decision we take and is equally passionate about strengthening financial resilience across the UK.”
Ferguson takes on analyst role at Quilter Investors
Quilter Investors, the multi-asset investment business of Quilter, has appointed Malachi Ferguson as a manager research analyst.
He joins from Liontrust Asset Management, where he was an analyst in the multi-asset team covering equities, fixed income, sustainable and alternative investments; before joining Liontrust he was an investment analyst at LGPS Central, and has worked across global financial institutions in analytical roles.
Ferguson will research and analyse funds for inclusion within Quilter Investors’ range of multi-asset portfolios. His key areas include US equities, investment grade credit, government bonds and liquidity funds.
Ferguson will report to Kristian Cassar, head of manager research, who joined Quilter Investor’s Manager Research Hub earlier this year.
Cassar said: “As we enhance the research capabilities here at Quilter Investors, we are delighted to be welcoming someone of Malachi’s talents to the team. His abilities and experience will help in discovering a wide range of quality fund options that are of great value to our portfolio managers and ultimately our end clients.
“The market movements of the last eighteen months means that in-depth research and analysis of investment funds has become increasingly crucial. Malachi has proven in his previous role that he can analyse investments from across the multi-asset spectrum and with him we are excited to see the output our expanded research team can bring to the table.”
Ferguson, added: “I am pleased to be joining Quilter Investors, and I’m looking forward to working alongside a skilled research and portfolio management team to identify new investment opportunities. The sheer magnitude of the investment funds industry means that thorough analytical research is essential to pinpoint rewarding investments. Markets are very uncertain from a returns perspective just now, but this can also bring great opportunities to spot exciting and unique funds and I am excited to be doing that here at Quilter.”
