The latest hires, promotions and appointments for the week ending 19 July 2024.
London CIV has appointed Sarah Nowell as its new chief risk officer, replacing Stephen Burke, who is retiring.
Nowell joins from Freetrade, an investment trading platform. In her new role she will lead a four-person risk and compliance team. She has previously worked at EY, Insight Investment and Alcentra.
Dean Bowden, CEO at London CIV, said Nowell’s experience was “core for the business – especially at a time when we are broadening our capabilities in collaboration with our partner funds to meet their evolving needs”.
The appointment comes as the Local Government Pension Scheme asset pool is expanding its service offering to partner funds. London CIV last month appointed Andrien Meyers as chief proposition officer with effect from September.
Burke is retiring after a 38-year career in financial services, including five years with London CIV. Bowden praised Burke’s work to build a “robust risk and compliance function” while the pool grew rapidly.
