Hymans Robertson has appointed new leaders for its investment consultancy and defined contribution (DC) teams.
Emma Cameron has been named head of investment consultancy, succeeding Anthony Ellis, who will now take on the role of head of DC investment strategy.
She joined the firm in 2012, having previously worked at Deloitte and Mercer, and currently advises defined benefit (DB) pension schemes. Cameron also chairs Hymans Robertson’s investment committee.
Cameron said: “This role will give me the opportunity to further strengthen the work of the investment team, ensuring that DB schemes are adequately prepared for the crucial investment decisions they face.”
In his new role, Ellis will see him focus on the DC market. He previously helped develop Hymans’ DC proposition before moving to lead the wider investment consulting team.
Ellis joined the company in 2009 and previously worked for Phoenix Group, Lloyds Banking Group and PwC.
“The DC market is going through a period of enormous transformation and there is an expanding investment universe available for DC schemes, trustees and members to navigate,” Ellis said.
“With the government seeking the views of the DC market to help make real change in the pensions industry, the next few months look set to be an incredibly busy time.”
National Wealth Fund CEO to step down
UK Investment Summit
The chief executives of the National Wealth Fund and the British Business Bank are to deliver keynote speeches at Pensions Expert’s UK Investment Summit on 27 February. Find out more and register here.
John Flint is to step down as CEO of the National Wealth Fund in the summer, the organisation announced this week.
Flint was appointed CEO of the UK Infrastructure Bank in 2021, and led its transformation to the National Wealth Fund last year.
He will remain in post until a successor is appointed. A recruitment process will start soon, the National Wealth Fund said in a statement.
Flint said it was “the right moment to hand over to a successor and look for a new challenge”.
“I will do so feeling confident that the National Wealth Fund is well positioned to mobilise billions of pounds of investment and play a leading role in supporting the government’s ambitions on growth and clean energy,” he added.
Rachel Reeves, the chancellor, said Flint had been “outstanding” in his position and “leave behind a considerable legacy”.
She continued: “His successor will be required to build on his work by backing businesses and our local leaders to invest in the industries of the future. In doing so we can get Britain building the infrastructure we need to grow as part of our Plan for Change.”
John Flint is to deliver a keynote address at the Pensions Expert UK Investment Summit next week. .
