On the go: The Department for Work and Pensions has appointed John Govett as the first chief executive officer of the new single financial guidance body.

Govett has worked in leadership roles across the private, public and charity sectors, including as group chief executive of Ixion Holdings, managing director of Surrey County Council and Shaw Trust Charity board executive.

He will take up his new role in October, and the appointment involves a four-and-a-half-year term.

The body, which is set to be established as a legal entity in October before its planned launch in January 2019, will replace the Money Advice Service, the Pensions Advisory Service and Pension Wise. Sir Hector Sants was announced as the new chair of the body in May 2018.
