The Pensions Regulator has updated its approach to regulation and the use of its powers in the face of an ever-changing retirement savings landscape — and it is ready to answer your questions.
Pensions Expert is hosting a live Twitter Q&A with Nicola Parish, executive director of frontline regulation at the regulator, on Tuesday August 1.
From 11am, Nicola will field questions on the regulator’s approach to defined benefit, defined contribution and public sector schemes, and will outline its philosophy around using its powers.
To ask a question, simply tweet @pensions_expert on the day or in advance, using the hashtag #AskTPR. Pensions Expert will then put your questions to Nicola. The Q&A will last for 45 minutes.
Questions can also be submitted in advance to Angus Peters (angus.peters@ft.com), and can be put to the regulator anonymously.
The chance to question the regulator comes at a time when it is embracing change, according to a recent blog by chief executive Lesley Titcomb.
Improved clarity around identity and expectations, alongside greater oversight, efficiency, and more frequent interventions are all among the watchdog’s aims.
Familiarity with its approach will therefore be essential for lay trustees, pension professionals and employers as they navigate the coming years.
We look forward to receiving your questions, and hope you will join us online to read the regulator’s responses.
