The latest hires, promotions and appointments for the week ending 8 March 2024.

Hymans Robertson has promoted Iain Campbell to head of LGPS investments.

He joined the consultancy firm’s defined benefit (DB) team in 2020 from JLT Employee Benefits, and specialises in investment advice to local authority pension funds. Earlier in his career, Campbell was an investments manager at the Greater Manchester Pension Fund, and has also worked as an analyst at Mercer.

Campbell said: “My focus will be on making sure we continue to provide best-in-market advice, supporting new and current clients to work through their investment challenges. For most, these include strategic decisions like how to get the most out of pooling or how to invest for the best in an environment of surpluses.

“Meanwhile, the ever-evolving issues of regulatory change, climate risk and biodiversity loss require nuanced understanding. My experience working as an officer within the LGPS gives me a unique perspective when it comes to our clients and the work they do.”
